THE BIG UP 2011
Accolades/Press For TBU 2011:
” Whatever it was, Big Up, hands down, was one of the most vibrant and personal festivals of the summer. It’s hard to feel left out, or like all your doing is moving from one stage to the next, when everyone around you is bound together with infectious excitement and the motive of having a great time…Whether you’re looking for a weekend of uncontrollable dance parties, mind expanding art projects, or just a genuine good time, Big Up had it all. With such a positive experience it’s hard to say that the festival will go anywhere but ‘up’ from here on out. ” to read more click – http://jamforums.com/jf/?p=1258
” Shireworks Productions is on to something ferocious. A savvy combination of Sunnyview Farm’s incredible legacy and locational capabilities, a solid on-site production crew, an inspiring innovative arts directing and creative team, and a carefully thought out, meticulously perfect lineup left fans on cloud 9 and musicians in heaven. You name it – decor, lighting, sound, performer hospitality, press and artist accommodations, site amenities, security, alternative activities, hidden stages, wooded camping, art galleries, lounges, multi-media installations, and feel good homies all around – The Big Up did it right. “ to read more click - http://performermag.com/tag/the-big-up/
” The Big Up created a vibe all its own‚ which is something hard to pull off in today’s thriving festival scene… The intimate experience and pleasant weather of The Big Up was a successful formula for this particular event’s setting‚ putting it on the path for continued growth in years to come. From bringing a diverse range of acts to showcasing and selling interesting art while providing an array of activities‚ I can only imagine Shireworks is already brainstorming ideas for a bigger and better event for next year!” to read more click – http://www.stateofmindmusic.com/entry/1305/The-Big-Up-Festival-2011/

THE BIG UP 2010 Accolades:
” There aren’t too many first year festival success stories. Lets be real- music festival production is no walk in the lot. It usually takes years in the hole, and serious time spent learning from mistakes, to create a sustainable, reciprocal environment for festival-goers. It seems to be becoming more and more difficult to find a safe and welcoming venue for these important gatherings of artists, musicians and the creative counterculture. I guess having thousands of folks getting rowdy, raging around the clock and bumping beats into the stratosphere isn’t for everybody. Luckily, for East Coast natives and heads from all over, The Big Up Festival held it down.-www.lostinsound.org ”
” The Big Up delivered just about everywhere you’d want a festival to deliver. The people were great, those in the crowd, as well as, the staff, the weather was perfect, the line-up delivered in every sense of the word, perfectly balanced and tons of talent, great food, and a flawless campsite. Unless something incredibly unfortunate happens, this will be one which will continue to grow for years to come! – www.musicmauraders.com ”
“ The Big Up definitely took it to new heights. They not only one-upped the other two events they produced, they quadrupled it. And I’m not just talking about the number of people but the set up of the venue itself. Everything was bigger. The Big up had more camping, new Stages including the main stage, they had GIANT multimedia screens with crazy images being projected on them all night, huge bonfires, live art, local vendors, chill ass people, and of course music. - http://treeshurts.wordpress.com ”
“ The Big Up was very impressive. A great staff, a perfect festival site, and amazing production all came together to feature amazing talent performing at their highest levels. I would not hesitate for a second to go to any event that Shire Works was putting on, knowing that next year’s Big Up is going to be Bigger and Upper.- www.livemusicnewsandreview.com ”
